National Baking Week – Get in that kitchen!

National Baking Week

I’m a massive advocate of home-cooking & baking, so I’m extra happy that this week is National Baking Week!

Baking

Check out ‘spoonycakes’ Top 10 Baking Tips Blog – It’s excellent!

I’ll be cooking up a number of baked treats this week and you should get involved too. Presenting a beautiful cake to your loved ones (or eating it by yourself) leaves you with a wonderful feeling. It’s even more fun if you can get your kids involved in the making process  too, so I’ve included some tasty, simple recipes further down the page too.

If you’re not used to being in the kitchen then I highly recommend Spoonycakes‘Top 10 Baking Tips’. I’m quite a seasoned baker and it’s taught me some things that I didn’t know! If you’re not sure what to bake then why not try out one of the recipes below. They are recipes that I have baked before and they have been taste approved by the better half, who is official cake tester round these parts.

Proper Yummy Recipes

Lemon and Strawberry Victoria Sponge

Raspberry and Lemon Polenta Cake

Totally Chocolatey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Little-one Friendly Recipes

Banana Flapjacks

Chocolate Crispies

Gingerbread Biscuits

What will you be baking this week? Will you be holding a Bake It Better event to help raise funds for Great Ormond Street? If so, we’d love to hear from you.  Let us know in the comments below..
